Demolition of The Joe was supposed to start on September 15 but Olympia Entertainment the company that owns the Wings and used to run The Joe extended a lease with the city to keep the building in use through November. Olympia Entertainment is still using The Joe for offices and storage for LCA and I believe that left over material is being stored at The Joe as well. It looks like demolition can start on The Joe as early as December or January. Still appears an auction will take place selling fixtures from The Joe and a deal with the city still needs to be reached. Olympia Entertainment said anything that is the Wings are owned by Olympia (pictures, banners, etc) and anything that is bolted down is the City's (seats, boards, signs etc). If The Joe is heading into demolition expect to see an auction in the coming weeks or months. Crew at The Joe have already started taking down ads off signs and the scoreboard. Interesting to see what they will do with that scoreboard that was used for 25 years. Even though you weren't allowed to take anything from The Joe I was able to set a piece of fabric from the seat. When there is an auction I will definitely be attending and hoping to buy a few things. For now the building will be used as offices for Olympia Entertainment.

LCA isn't finished yet. the rink, concourses, and restaurants are pretty much up and running, but the stairwell and elevator areas are still bare drywall and some exposed studs. and the office suites aren't anywhere near done.
I think the scoreboard is probably just going to be parted out and recycled. No NHL team would be interested in such an obsolete piece, and it's still too big for anything but a pro-level arena. White Way went out of business some years ago, so re-selling it would be hard.

The scoreboard started as White Way but in 2015 they upgraded the scoring panels to OES because White Way was out of business and couldn't find bulbs to replace the burnt out ones so they switched to LED's. It would be cool if somehow the Hockey Hall of Fame could buy it and put it on display rather than recycling it.
