I happen to know EA has gone to great lengths to improve arena authenticity including center ice designs, key arena features, and the presentation within each arena. Go back and play NHL 15 and the differences will be alarming. However they are a small team and can only do so much every year, and it is not easy for them to research updates to arenas and catch every detail, but they certainly have expressed interest in improving them.
So here I am going to try to compile of list of possible fixes/updates for arenas throughout the NHL and when we have a decent list I will communicate this with EA Canada and perhaps we will see some of these changes make it in a patch or into NHL 18. (They have included many of my center ice improvements in NHL 16 via a patch and even more in NHL 17).

Chicago Blackhawks
Madhouse on Madison sign missing.
Edmonton Oilers
Center Ice Update Needed (already sent to EA)
Top tier of scoreboard needs updated.
Florida Panthers
Center Ice Update Needed (already sent to EA)
New York Islanders
Players bench sides need swapped. (Isles should sit on left)
Missing car behind one end of the rink.
New York Rangers
Center Ice Update Needed (already sent to EA)
San Jose Sharks
Rafters should be a lighter gray color.
St Louis Blues
Goal light possibly not working in live action shots. Works fine in cut scenes and replays.
Blues do a salute to crowd at center ice with a goal horn blast after a home win.
Vancouver Canucks
Center Ice Update Needed (already sent to EA)
Glitches
Sometimes goal songs do not play. Just silence after the goal horn.
Fans still sit down during playoff series win celebrations.
Hair style 12 is short in previews,replays, and cut scenes but during gameplay has a mullet
