should the islanders head back to Long Island after the Nassau veterans memorial coliseum after the renovation is complete?

They won't be moving back.. not in a lifetime. They are stuck at the Barclays Center for a while. The only thing that NVMC is being used for are the L.I. Nets, reason why they painted it black

Funny how in a span of 5 days, we now have reports that Barclays Center wants to evict the NY Islanders by 2018-19. Clearly this is why I never liked arenas that are ill-suited for hockey in the first place, they get a rather tendancy to prefer the sport the place was built for and try and chew the other sport out. (see Phoenix and how that went down, and for a much smaller scale, the WHL Seattle Thunderbirds)
